This Privacy Policy explains what information Charleston Hockey ("Charleston Hockey," "we," "us") collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to hockeycharleston.com and the forms on it. Charleston Hockey is a local hockey news and information site covering the adult hockey divisions at the Carolina Ice Palace in North Charleston, South Carolina.
Information we collect
We only collect information that you choose to give us. That happens in two places:
- Contact form. When you message us through our Contact page, we collect your name, email address, subject, and message.
- Newsletter signup. When you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address so we can send you updates.
We do not use analytics or advertising trackers on this site, and we do not knowingly collect any information beyond what you submit through these forms.
How we use your information
- To respond to your questions and messages.
- To send newsletter updates — scores, standings, playoff news and stories — if you've subscribed.
- To operate and improve Charleston Hockey.
How your information is stored
Charleston Hockey is hosted on Netlify, which also receives and stores the submissions from our contact and newsletter forms. Your information is handled under Netlify's privacy and security practices — see the Netlify Privacy Policy.
Cookies
Charleston Hockey does not set tracking or advertising cookies. Some pages embed third-party content (for example, live stats from GameSheet), and those providers may set their own cookies as part of loading their content. You can manage cookies through your browser settings.
Sharing your information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share it only with the service provider above so we can operate the site's forms, or where we are required to do so by law.
How long we keep it
We keep contact and newsletter information only as long as it is needed to respond to you and send the updates you asked for. You can ask us to delete your information at any time (see below).
Your choices
You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time, or ask us for a copy of the information you've submitted, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. To make a request, message us through our Contact page and we'll take care of it.
Children's privacy
Charleston Hockey covers adult hockey and is intended for a general audience. This site is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be reflected here.
