And here we are.
After an entire summer of late-night hockey, questionable line changes, pulled muscles, and grown men pretending they’re not sore the next morning, the Charleston Over-35 Summer 2026 season has reached the semifinals.
And, unsurprisingly, the four teams left standing are:
WorldVest. Dire Wolves. Holy City. Shade-FOG.
The heavyweights have arrived.
Round One: Some Things Never Change
Shade-FOG 4, Burns Alley 3
Captain Andrew Miller and Shade-FOG survived a 4–3 battle against Arthur’s Burns Alley, sending Miller into unfamiliar territory: the second round of the playoffs.
It’s been a while. Congratulations, Andrew.
Burns Alley, meanwhile, finds itself in considerably more familiar territory — eliminated in the first round for the third consecutive season.
What a shame.
Holy City defeats Revelry
Sean Fleming and the boys from Revelry gave it a valiant effort, but ultimately couldn’t take down the #3 seed Holy City.
Revelry’s Cinderella run is officially over, and Holy City moves on to face the Dire Wolves. Can the Dire Wolves make it to the finals yet again? Perhaps. Will they prevail beyond that? Uncertain.
Semifinal Thursday August 13th
The matchups are set.
8:15 PM — #1 WorldVest vs. #4 Shade-FOG
WorldVest enters as the top seed and now gets Andrew Miller and a Shade-FOG team riding the emotional high of discovering that, yes, it is actually possible to advance in the playoffs.
Can Shade-FOG keep the miracle alive?
Or will WorldVest remind everyone why they finished #1?
Is the first seed curse really a thing? We shall find out.
8:45 PM — #2 Dire Wolves vs. #3 Holy City
The Dire Wolves earned the #2 seed and a first-round bye behind the best defensive performance in the league, and now the real work begins.
Holy City is battle-tested after round one.
The Wolves are rested.
One team advances to the championship.
This is playoff hockey, gentlemen.
Thursday, August 13.
Four teams enter.
Two teams leave with a shot at the championship.
Let’s play some hockey.
